RE: [http://wordpress.com/blog/2007/07/10/submit-for-review/]

Are there really Editors who have all the time in the world to ‘look’ at each contribution made by fellow bloggers via WordPress.com? How about the creative folks who like to rant with dark themes not normally suitable to folks under the age of eighteen (18)? Would these posts pass for publication regardless of content?

Maybe I read the following article ‘New WordPress.com Feature: Pending Review (http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/2007/06/16/new-wordpress-feature-pending-review/) too fast due to my impatient nature of having to read the many words despite the well summarized, easy-to-read paragraphs. And like the time required to read and write, waiting for the ‘Editors’ response to my posts would make me, well, rather anxious. And this is no fun.

I noticed there is this WordPress 2.3 and may have uploaded this application into my computer without ever using this process. Maybe this ‘Ready for Review’ does not apply to bloggers posting directly via their WordPress.com account.

When I blog, I usually press the ‘Publish’ button right away. This is convenient and less time-consuming after composing my thoughts offline and doing all sorts of proofreading as often as I’d like and prior to publishing. This helps me feel assured that I won’t ‘loose’ any of my masterpieces. Unfortunately, I find myself making more modifications towards perfection afterwards.

The ‘Save and Continue Editing’ button seems almost redundant since there is a ‘Save’ button immediately to the right of this one. I believe this button means the ‘Visual’ section remains open as the blogger continues entering their thoughts versus the ‘Save’ button. I should use this particular button more often for online posting.

The ‘Save’ button is annoying because there is this ‘Your Drafts: [followed by the title of the post or page]‘ that would appear. I would have to click on this link and actually review my work prior to publishing. For me, this feature adds an extra step that I could do without for now.

I suppose this is useful for those who do all their entries online without backing up into their local drives. There should be a one step process of saving automatically (which I already see as I blog) and deciding later which entries are to be made ‘Private’ or ‘Public’ at any time. This personalized feature could be part of the ‘Manage’ section, just like for ‘Categories’ but this is not possible for WordPress.com, right now.

I have more ideas but that would mean putting me on the payroll for any quality assurance endeavors. I strive for perfection but unfortunately my words are limited and my time is dedicated to blogging, as usual. All I could do is blog on and do not hope for my opinionated contributions to be held high on anyone’s pedestal.
