20070923-Saturday Sermon

Pay for ransom! Send us money!
Reward handsome - golden honey
Outwardly trapped by foreign laws
Beaten and slapped by sharpened jaws.

Won’t you please help? Don’t want to die!
I’ll pay you back - a ‘famousguy’
Wish you were here to be my friend
Loving fully unto the end.

One life taken a tit for tat
Badly shaken mortal combat
Wars of the lands unending show
By unseen hands unloving foe

Ocean sadness whales are singing
Dolphin gladness bubbles ringing
Of their calling to say, ‘Hello’
And winged sylphs so long ago

Who would you trust - great or small?

Author’s note: Inspired by chatting sessions with a JB from the year of 2006, the ongoing efforts of TPTB combined with wars, aliens and other poems by ‘beupdated’, ‘dotgo’, ‘ninaalvarez’ and ‘intrepiddreamer’ - wooo!

Poem originally created on Sunday, September 23, 2007 11:46:03 AM and also inspired by the shorter version of Luke 16:1-13 or 16:10-13:

    [Jesus said to his disciples:]
“The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones; and the person who is dishonest in very small matters is also dishonest in great ones. If, therefore, you are not trustworthy with dishonest wealth: Who will trust you with true wealth? If you are not trustworthy with what belongs to another, who will give you what is yours? No servant can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
