20080330-Hover Levels

Okay, I’ve been playing around with my paid CSS upgrade for my current ‘Pool’ theme via WordPress and cannot be satisfied with the layout because I still don’t understand how the different list levels (li, ol and ul) affect the hover mode. I couldn’t get ’list style type’ for the second level to appear as ‘circle’ but for whatever reason that is the same as the first level as ‘disc’, which are those dark filled in circles to the left of each list item.

I still cannot figure out the differences between the ‘li’, ‘ol’ and ‘ul’ and how grouping those as ‘li ul li’, ‘ul li’, ’li ul’, ‘li’ only, ‘ul’ only, or any other combination affect my hover mode. All I know is my final combination ‘li ul li’ works nicely to set the long, horizontal ’li’ color (I used from the ‘comment form’) apart from my ‘content’ (wrapper or container) background color of ‘pale white blue’ (#CCCCFF).

Here are some combinations that I didn’t like: With the ‘ul li’ combination, the ‘li’ color is the same color per paragraph and the ‘hover’ color is not shown. With the ‘ul’ alone, the ‘ul’ color appears as the background for the ‘li’ items only. With the ’li ul’ combination, the ‘li’ color is the same as the ‘hover’ color, with the ‘ul’ color being the spaces in between as the ‘margin’. With the ‘li’ alone, the ‘li’ color is the same as the ‘ul’ color.

For the header of the sidebar (below), I reduced the ‘letter spacing’ from 0.2em to 0.1em (to keep that the same as the size for the header of my posts and pages) and I matched the background color for both this header and the appearance of the text with a hover color of ‘pale white cyan’ (#CCFFFF). I got the hover color for the ‘li’ of the sidebar (below) from the header to my posts and pages (above), by the way.

Anyway, y’all may check out the sidebar (below) and look for other changes that I may have not yet mentioned but will later if I’m not too lazy to blog. The whole day was clear blue skies after some fluffy, puffy white clouds — I took some photos but will upload to my Flickr.com account. I did sleep well in during the ‘prana dip’ in the mid-afternoon over the past few days, too.

At around 04:33PM, the ‘Satanist’ marked my intersection, took off like a scared chicken and fill the air with burning rubber, which was blown away southward by the fresh winds. He came back a few minutes later because I ’summoned’ him. If he really wanted to meet or visit me he could have rang the doorbell to my parents home. Chickens! Puck! Puck! Puck!
