20080416-More Modifications
Well, I’ve been keeping myself busy with my paid CSS upgrade. Yesterday, the colors to four selectors were changed along with some borders. It’s around 1:39AM. After three hours of constantly clicking the ‘Preview’ button for some results and pressing ‘Save Sytlesheet>>’ button each time, I’ve added three more colors of green (from a yellow-orange color for that line separating the ‘Recent posts’), violet color (for the ’small’ stuff) and mauve color (for the links entered within each posts or pages). The other modification was changing the background color to a pale blue color for the ‘.alt’ element.
Besides the colors, I browsed the Microsoft cliparts for free arrows to replace my old arrows into something easier for the eyes. I found some that was downloaded into a zip folder and used basic gray arrows — one for the right (44a) and one for the left (43a). I proceeded to upload the images from my local drive into one of my pages — ‘Recent posts’. Then I did the repetitive task of copying and pasting these two hyperlinks from my ‘Media Library’ into the ‘HTML’ tab of each ‘Page’ that had my old arrows of white against a purple background. It looks good basically for now.
Also, I noticed the [en.forums.wordpress.com] has taken a new look a few minutes ago. There is a search bar on the upper right hand corner with the words ‘Search WordPress.com Blogs’ inside the form. I typed in ‘contempt theme’ and found two of my blogs posted towards the top of the results. Their ‘hover’ color (that I currently use) has been removed. It now is the same dark blue color as the ‘link’. The ‘visited’ color is still the light blue color.
I think I am finished playing around with the layout of this current theme and will continue blogging. But I’ve not been interested in posting stray thoughts as much thanks to the long, overdue delays, holdups and snags from and by TPTB. I may consider trying WordPress.org for more control over my website but for now the CSS stylesheet here at WordPress.com provides me much needed practice for when and if I decide to take classes in web design.
